One of Carpenter’s few disappointing films, based on a story that had already said all it had to say in the ‘60s film, the movie drags on slowly until the predictable ending. No bloody, scary, or suspenseful sequences, and the special effects leave something to be desired. Carpenter usually claims he loves all his films like his own children; we’re sure he loves this one a little less than the others…
