A journalist specializing in exposing fake mediums and false appearances, accepts the challenge of going to live in the infamous "Amityville house". Soon, his convictions will begin to waver: evil spirits really exist and it will be the journalist's family who will pay the price. Third episode of the Amityville saga, with the serious flaw (as you will have understood from the title) of having been filmed in 3D, a technique very in vogue in the eighties but which is now, to say the least, outdated and unintentionally ridiculous; and as if that were not enough, the film also has obvious screenplay limitations (no original plot twist, very few killings) and poor special effects (see the rubber and latex monster that comes out of the house's foundations..) making it cloying and uninvolving. Those who defined it as "the best chapter of the Amityville saga" probably haven't seen the first two films which, although not masterpieces of the genre, are definitely superior to this one. The cast also includes a very young Meg Ryan.
