•A woman hypnotizes her nurse son to make him kill some of his patients and tear out their eyes, which she collects. But beware, this is not the movie we are watching! We are in a cinema where two girls are watching this horror film; one of them, having gotten up to go to the restroom, discovers that a madman is emulating the film's protagonist, tries to alert the police but the madman has locked all the cinema doors. A "film within a film," a horrific thriller directed by Spanish filmmaker Bigas Luna - who certainly cannot be called an "expert" in the horror genre - which, despite a somewhat confusing plot, a not particularly fast pace, and a too "police-like" ending, is still pleasant and certainly original. Excellent performances by the leads.
