An American woman, helped by a rough adventurer, searches for her missing sister in the jungle following a fanatical preacher. The expedition will not have the expected outcome: between cannibals and followers of the mad preacher, the only survivor will be the young woman herself. In the wake of the legendary "Cannibal Holocaust" by Deodato, Umberto Lenzi crafts this film that is only remembered for some rather disturbing splatter sequences and technically well-made. The subject and screenplay are however entirely predictable and too similar to all the cannibal movies of the period. Watchable, but only and strictly in the uncut version.
