In Manhattan, a man is found dead, horribly mangled, in the city park. The police begin to investigate, and one of the cops discovers that the island on which the metropolis stands was once inhabited by a particular breed of wolves… Careful direction and excellent photography are the best features of this "sophisticated" horror and therefore not suitable for the "average" viewer of the genre. Almost two hours of a fairly smooth but not too fast film that will bore those who seek in horror only spectacle and rivers of blood (although, to be fair, blood and mutilations are not lacking in this film either). Worth rediscovering.
